I was born and raised in Paris and now live in San Francisco with my American wife. I studied at the Ecole Normale Supérieure and UC Berkeley before dropping out at 21 to start a company.

I co-founded Doctrine, an AI-driven startup that organizes the world's legal information to make the law accessible and understandable for legal professionals. Doctrine is Bloomberg for European lawyers. As the CEO of Doctrine, I contributed to hiring 184 people, securing tens of millions of dollars in debt and equity funding, and building a fast-growing, eight digits ARR, profitable SaaS. I now work as a chairman on strategy, finance, and M&A. I'm also an operational advisor to Figures, a tool to benchmark, review and communicate compensation plans.

I want to build multi-decade businesses with long-term people. I'm interested in improving access to the rule of law and sound money. I'm starting a new company to build B2B SaaS infrastructure tools for CFOs.

I write a popular newsletter to share my perspective on long-term company building. You can read my views on fundraisinghiringstartup crisiscompetitive moats and positioningthe role of the CEO, and much more! My single metric of success for the newsletter is the number of meaningful interactions I have with people, usually by email, per month.

I'm an avid reader and a big fan of Warren Buffet, Charlie Munger, Mark Leonard, John Bogle, Friedrich Hayek, Ludwig von Mises, and many more thinkers you can find in my list of books worth reading

I'm outdoorsy and enjoy hiking in the Bay Area, biking in the Marin Headlands, and running in Golden Gate Park. I like hanging out in my 30-people family village in the middle of nowhere in Spain, enjoying simple things with simple people.
